You spend all day at your computer, filing spreadsheets and researching internet service providers and sometimes online shopping, but what’s that doing to your body? Here are a few things to keep in mind if you’re a desk dweller with a fitness routine:

Stretch those arms: Your arms are likely getting a fair amount of motion and exercise from typing and reaching and holding the phone, so when you use them in your routine, think stretching. Yoga and pilates are great options for getting the exercise you need.

Work those legs: Your legs are likely pretty stationary during the day and the more you sit, the more muscle mass you lose. Keep them on an alternating cardio/toning regimen to ensure you don’t end up with toothpicks rather than the defined, toned legs you had before you took the job.

Move around at work: Part of your regimen should include the office.Think a blow-up exercise ball instead of a desk chair or hourly walks to the kitchen to get water. The more you move the less ‘stove up’ you’ll get and the more blood you’ll have pumping.
